There are various things we can do with glass to fit your custom look and needs. We can supply and cut pattern glass, cut mirrors to specific sizes and shapes, supply and cut Plexiglas® and Lexan®, supply tempered glass, and much more. Traditionally pattern glass products have been used to obscure vision areas requiring privacy but allowing virtually the same light transmission as clear glass. The level of obscurity depends on the pattern which has been imprinted into the glass as it is made. This process of rolling the still hot and soft glass imparts a 3 dimensional texture to one side. The opposite side is relatively flat. The most common use of pattern glass is office screening, decorative partitions, rest room facilities, patio furniture, shower doors and entryways.
Dubuque Glass Company carries a wide variety of pattern glass with an 1/8” thickness and some allowing a 1/4″ thicknesses. Available with common fabrication for holes, notches and hinge cut outs. These products are typically available as both tempered and insulated. See project photos.
Need a mirror custom cut to fit your size and needs? We can help! If you have a shaped mirror, bring the old one into the office and we can match the previous pattern or shape. If your mirror isn’t going into a frame, we can seam the edges for you so the edges are not sharp and offer either J-Bar or Mirraco Hangers to hold you mirror in the desired location. Need safety glass for your door, glass tables, or window? We supply tempered and laminated glass cut to your size. Tempered glass is a safety glass which is tempered after it is cut to size.
Laminated Glass is a safety glass we can also cut to your size. Laminated glass has a middle layer which holds the glass in place if it were to break. If a piece of tempered glass was to break, it would fracture into tiny, smaller pieces.
We offer Plexiglas (acrylic glass) and Lexan at different thicknesses and cut to your size. Lexan is stronger than Plexiglas. Plexiglas is also a cheaper plastic. We carry 1/16″, 1/8″, and 1/4″ clear Plexiglas and 1/8″ and 1/4″ clear Lexan. Thicker pieces like 1/2″ plexiglass are available for order. If you are looking for a specific color or tint we have a wide variety of colors to choose from.
